June 2024, IEP Global Headquarters, Marlborough, MA
IEP Technologies is proud to announce that we have joined Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Steering Committee for their new Master’s Degree program in Explosion Protection Engineering. This will be the first degreed program that specializes in Explosion Protection. John McNeill, Dean of WPI’s Mechanical Engineering Program, and Ali Rangwala, Professor of Explosion Protection, recently visited IEP’s global headquarters in Marlborough, MA. During their visit, they toured our facilities and met with several notable WPI alumni currently working at IEP.
Burke Desautels, WPI Class of ’89 and IEP’s Head of Explosion Protection, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “One of the biggest challenges in explosion protection is talent development. Prior to WPI’s new program, there simply weren’t any programs available to train the next generation of explosion protection engineers. IEP is very excited to contribute our decades of experience and application knowledge to this program.”
